Very often, competent professionals don’t feel the confidence to clarify misunderstandings in the workplace. What others think of them carries too much weight, and they don't want to upset anyone, so they are careful with every word they say.
False assumptions can lead to frustration, stress, and anxiety. But there is a way out, and it starts with your own awareness of the situation.
A typical example would be assuming that people are intentionally trying to undermine you. Watch this video, the first one after the summer break. I'm glad I have my twin sister to help. 😂
What other typical assumptions can you think of?
Many people come to coaching because they want a way out, they don't feel recognized at work, and they are eager to improve their situation somewhere else. They've lost motivation and start to explore other options. 👀 They look for someone to help them prepare for an interview and review their CVs. They 100% focus on a process that can be long and difficult and skip an important part:
- You have to work on yourself first, improve your current situation, and increase the quality of your relationships internally. 💐
- Without noticing, you will project a more positive image that will help you change direction in a healthier way. During your transition period, you want to be at your best, so start where you are.
- This is a marathon, and the stronger you feel at the starting point, the better you will finish. 🥇
Get ready for those conversations and enjoy the ride!
What is your experience with transitions?
...and it's not about volunteering for things you are not really interested in. What led you to success in junior roles is not the same path to success in senior positions. You are not evaluated based on the delivery of the task anymore, but on different virtues and strengths beyond hard work.
My clients are top performers and really good at what they do by nature. It's in their DNA to reach for the next goal. That's why when they stop focusing on the WHAT and start focusing on the WHO, magic happens. 🙌

Time management was never my forte when I was in corporate, but the kids made me better at this. Now, the entrepreneurial life doesn't help. 🙈
Have you changed your approach to your working hours over the years?
If you are trying too hard to succeed at work, yet your career is in danger of stalling…
...maybe it’s teatime for you! ☕
I used to work in a place where the workflow would change fast, forcing me to quickly adapt to new situations, and juggle many daily tasks and deadlines. I had ambitious goals and wanted more. 💪 But when high expectations don’t meet reality, anxiety blocks you and decreases performance. 📉
Sometimes it's time to slow down, reflect, and just observe what's happening around you. It's teatime! Time to have the courage to stay in the moment and learn… to achieve greater things! You will know when to accelerate again. Click here to watch the video.
How good are you at pacing yourself at work?
Work on yourself and alter the way you show up internally BEFORE starting your transition outside.
I see many people coming back from holidays full of energy and ready to give their job another chance. But after a week, they go back to exactly the same place they were before the holidays. 🙄
They are really good at what they do but feel they are not recognized in the workplace and lose motivation. They want a way out and consider executive coaching to work on that transition. But the truth is that the transition hasn't started yet.
Leaving your current company can be hard. And the number 1 rule is to find a job while still employed. Sometimes the process takes longer than expected. I recommend my clients first work on themselves and alter the way they show up internally. You need to build strong relationships and transform that frustration into excitement BEFORE starting the real transition. Get ready for those conversations while you are still recharged after vacation. 💪
It's not easy, but it takes small changes to your own thinking and behavior to create huge advantages at work.
What do you miss the most about being on holidays?
And I am fine with having an accent. But despite having worked in English for 15 years, I´m still insecure when I write.
When creating content, I fear errors or a too narrow vocabulary. 😱
Until this week.
I started to read "The Copywriter's handbook" by Robert W. Bly, an author that teaches how to communicate in a professional environment (emails, ads, websites, etc...) in a clear and persuasive way.
He recommends:
✅ To be concise: unnecessary words waste the reader's time and dilute the message.
✅ To avoid redundancies: be specific and go straight to the point.
For example, use:
✔ GET instead of ❌ OBTAIN
✔ END instead of ❌ TERMINATE
✔ 20 instead of ❌ NUMBER 20
✔ WHETHER instead of ❌ WHETHER OR NOT
✔ A PRINCIPLE instead of ❌ A GENERAL PRINCIPLE
✔ HELPS YOU instead of ❌ CAN HELP YOU
✔ IS instead of ❌ CAN BE CONSIDERED
So, whenever you feel intimidated using a second language, be aware that you don't need big words. You are probably communicating MUCH better than you think. 😍
Remember that you don't want to impress people; you are trying to deliver a message. So be confident. Because the way the message is delivered IS an important part of the message!
I lived in China in my thirties.
I worked at an impo/expo company and studied Chinese at Jiao Tong University in Shanghai.
One day I was with my boyfriend (now husband) at a restaurant, and the waitress handed us the bill with questions about the service. I wrote ¨the beer is not cold¨ in Chinese characters. My boyfriend freaked out!
Exploring was our thing and we visited 15 amazing countries. I remember one December full of foreign adventures: Christmas in Hong Kong, New Year in the Philippines meeting strangers. . .
Now I have 20 Christmas shows and events at the school, and a trip to Spain, the same trip we´ve taken in the last 10 years. 😱
Wow. Life changes.
My thirties were fun. But giving chocolate cereal for breakfast to three kids and getting them out of the house all clean and neat to be punctual for school is a much bigger adventure. Add a business call at 9am and have an electrifying morning! 🙌
The last 30 months I’ve been fully dedicated to coaching individuals and helping them reach their goals.
This is what they´ve taught me:
✔ Most have difficulties seeing their own strengths, but they can recognize them in the people they most admire.
✔ The biggest shifts happen after a moment of reflection and increased self-awareness.
✔ Sometimes we want to escape from a company or a position because we hate the feeling of being judged.
✔ Even the most senior person in a company has emotions that have been triggered by an external situation. Processing those emotions generates feelings.
✔ We all underestimate the importance of self-care until we suffer the consequences of not prioritizing our health.
✔ Everything happens in one of two conversations: if we have a problem with someone and don’t talk to them, we will have a conversation with ourselves.
✔ Transformation happens when you face that inner dialogue and how it makes you feel. Everything changes when you start believing in yourself like others do!
✔ There is a big fear of being vulnerable in the workplace and we all care about what others think about us.
✔ The more you bring to coaching the more you get. Courage and authenticity are substantially rewarded.
✔ Everybody loves coaching! ❤
"My holidays were perfect."
First of all, nothing is perfect. In my case:
➖ It was a lot of work to take care of three kids under the age of 12.
➖ All the wining and dining left me with zero energy.
➖ Sometimes it was VERY hot! 🔥
Now I'm sitting at my desk supporting my clients and working on my programs and workshops for Q4. And it feels good. I'm eating well and going to the gym, I'm feeling healthy and loving my routine! I would not stay on holidays forever.
"I recharged and gained my motivation back."
Secondly, if you were feeling stuck in your career when you left the office:
❌ Not feeling recognized at work despite being really good at what you do.
❌ If the lack of recognition triggers your fear.
❌ And that fear paralyzes you.
Then you will probably come back to the exact same point in very little time. The holidays don't have the power to transform anything. Things won't change unless WE make them change!
You need a proper strategy with simple methods that will allow you to advance in your career. It's not about being obsessed with the completion of the task anymore. It's about being more present, more confident, more influential. And getting there from a healthy place.
How does your weekend look like?
